American history X is a motion- picture show nigh racism and how it can influence on life of individual. The movie shows how to brothers get involved into neo-Nazi skinhead gang and why one decides to have different way.
Derek and Danny are two Los Angeles brothers who grew up in a good family. Recreating a sequence of events in movie in a chronological order, the scene with brothers amaze at the dinner party table would be the first in sequence. At that bit Derek Danny are just normal buys, naïve and innocent. In his communion with father Derek mentions his black teacher Bob Sweeny and that he was deviation to have an exam on a book with dismal theme. His father didnt like the idea that affirmative blacktion spreads everywhere. He warns Derek that he has to watch out for it and try to see picture in whole. At this moment Derek for the first time faces the racial issue. His father sounds very reasonable, supporting his views by examples from life. He talks round how two black guys got firefighter job just because they were black, disdain fact that they scored lower on the testing.



The father as a significant other has a big influence on shaping Dereks perception of race issue. Derek quickly adopts his fathers views and changes his stereotypes. This dinner was a first step in transformation of his self-concept.
The absent of the father was the next event that caused changes in self-concept of the brothers. Racism ideas learned by Derek from his father were affirmed when his father. stand-in was killed by a black drug-dealer, while their father was putting the fair down in a poor neighborhood. Derek believes that the murder was race related, these events transforms him from being not least bit racial to being fanatically racist.
