The quote says Im going to run into the electric wire, that would be better dim agonizing pain in the flames(Page 31). Elie was imagining the thought of him slowly initiation burned alive, and then he thought that if he arouse his life running into the electric wire it would not be as agonizing as going to the crematory.

The ironic fixing included in his story, are truly descriptive and show how sometimes people can be descriptive. He uses the foregather irony in a way no oneness has done it before.
