Frankestein

Frankenstein is written by Mary Shelley and it is first published in early 1818. Mary Shelly got the idea for Frankenstein from a half-walking nightmare in the summer of 1816. She had been staying with her husband and Lord Byron on the shore of Lake geneva when Byron suggested tout ensemble of them were challenged to make a ghost fable. Her husband helped her enormously to expand upon her story, and Frankenstein is published in 1818.
Frankenstein is the story of a man whose ambitions makes him to seek for supernatural powers. His aim is to reach God-like level besides basically he acts for his own interest. Power and Glory which is 2 of the most much sorted human ambitions are his main aims. To achieve his closing, he makes an extensive use of knowledge and science. The holy scientific knowledge he gets through his research and his experiments leads him to desolation, solitude and results in a complete failure.
The two main themes in the novel are myth of the modern Prometheus, with Victor Frankenstein beingness described as the genius who steals the fire from the Gods; and the second one is, the problem of science whether science can find solutions to all human problems.
Prometheus is so closely related to Victor that is however the subtitle of the novel: The Modern Prometheus.



Prometheus is an ancient Greek story where Prometheus stole fire from the Gods and gave it to mankind; he was cursed by Zeus for doing such thing and he is made to project an eternal torture. For Victor his own glory is a goal for him to achieve. With his mothers death he has a beefed-up feeling that death is not fair so he finds a way to achieve his goal by genuinely creating a new species which would ignore illness and disease, which it would also be strong and beautiful. Victor even talks about get rid of death entirely where immorality applies to his theory.
