For almost31 years, residents of the Dominican Republic lived under Trujillos regime. surrounded by 1930-1961, life was hopeless for most of the citizen. Living in a dictatorial country is terrible in several ways, pile dont have rights at all. By 1945, the Vargas Family decided to move from Santo Domingo to Santiago, because they were concerned about their safety. They thought that moving away from the main city, was to a greater extent secure for them. But mostly, because their daughter Sandra was knobbed in political movements against the goverment. Her mother always said to her. Do not involved yourself in politics, Sandra. There is no room for democracy in this country. All those things she said were in vain, because she did not founder attention to anything her mother was saying.
There was one day, she and her sister were arriving at school, and it was honest of police officers. The police officers told them to follow their teachers, but as always, Sandra wanted to know what was going on. As soon as she got the opportunity, she moved from the group of students that were following their teachers. She went upstairs where the principals office was.

As a result, she ended up in the hospital with three lost ribs and a police report.
