Creative Response to Black Recollection
I marvelled at Allie in sheer wonderment, as her head lay on my chest. The gentle rocking of the boat lulled her into a soft sleep and her eyelids fluttered standardized the wings of the Golden Dragonfly, every now and then. I felt the wind dance and swim in a smooth swirl through her abundance of locks, as soft as rose petals and as black as ebony. Allie was as quiet as the dead in their eternal sleep. Yet I knew that she would never sleep peacefully… non after what had barely happened.
As I pulled at the daisy buds entwined through her hair, I period-tested to remember the event which started this mess; the event which brought us hither in this boat, painfully waiting for our new home.
