Huffman Trucking is a national fellowship with several logistical hubs located throughout the United States. The primaeval maintenance facility is in Ohio (Apollo Group, 2005). After careful reexamine of the companys computer systems, Huffman Trucking uses several diametric in operation(p) systems throughout the geological formation. The California situation has Windows 3.X and 9.X along with Windows 2000 boniface and Windows Proxy Server 2 in the plant. The Missouri office has Novell 4.11, Novell Boarder Manager while the plant had no documented operating system. New Jerseys office has Windows 3.X and 9.X surround and iia 4.0 Web Server. The New Jersey plant has Windows 3.X. Finally, the Ohio office has Novell 4.11 and Novell hedge Manager while the plant has no documented operating system (Apollo Group, 2005).
Huffman Trucking started as a small organization in Cleveland, Ohio. The company acquired the additional locations through purchases, which could account for the unalike operating systems.
Another reason for the difference in the operation systems could be the types of activities each office is required to complete. All of the operating systems used in the various Huffman Trucking offices are outdated, and because in that respect are several in use, any software updates or changes to programs have to be adjusted to function properly on the different systems. Also it would be difficult to create specialize IT protocols across the company.
