The Major Subsystems

The Hoosier Burger can be decomposed into 4 major subsystems: Process Customer Food Order, modify Goods Sold File, Produce Management Reports and Update Inventory File.
It is understand that the information systems in Hoosier Burger are all paper based. at a time a customer places his dedicate, the food order is processed and admit is issued to the customer. At the same time, the order is sent to the kitchen for preparation.
Updating the goods interchange file is the next consecutive major subsystem in Hoosier Burger. one time the goods are sold, the file is updated by formatting the data in the file. By doing this, the tot of goods sold daily is kept in track.
The inventory data in the inventory file is formatted as well via the same process and at the end of the day, the depletion amount in the inventory is in record.
When both the files are updated, Hoosier Burger produces direction reports.



These reports are reviewed by the restaurant manager who is Bob himself for and adjustments.
Hoosier Burgers system is expectantr in scope and decision than the information system, hence resulting to a smaller environment. To cater large group customers efficiently, Bob and Thelma must upgrade their ordering system and inventory control from paper based to electronic commit of sales system.
